Elysian Beach Resort

There is a vitality about the Elysian that the three other condominium complexes which share the Cowpet Bay waterfront don’t quite have.  The Elysian has been a resort destination – a hotel service used to operate for owners who chose to rent – so there’s a spa, a hair salon (CHECK!), a large ocean-side pool, a tennis court, a mini  convenience store, as well as two restaurants on the property.  It’s got it all, not to mention, proximity to Red Hook, where services abound.

The residences at the Elysian, also known as Cowpet Beach Resort, are designed with a rental option in mind.  Each bedroom has a porch facing the ocean, and a door to the outside.  The common living area can be used as a studio, and the door accessing the bedroom can be locked to enable the owner to rent the bedroom, which includes a full bath, and a station for a mini fridge.   Most units have a bedroom flanking both sides of the common living area, essentially providing for two rentals, while the owner enjoys a studio with a full kitchen, full bath and a laundry room.  Some Elysian units have a loft bedroom/bathroom, with a large balcony.  If being able to host guests or earn rental income is important, you may still enjoy plenty of living area, even if you’ve sectioned off a bedroom or two for private use.

Architecturally, the Elysian is perhaps the most attractive of the Cowpet area condominiums.  Some units require you to climb a couple flights of stairs from the parking lot.  Views from the Elysian can be somewhat removed from the ocean.  Many units overlook the parking lot, or the buildings housing the resort’s amenities.  But palm trees abound, a pool adds some cache to the vista, and regardless of what comes first, the sandy beach and blue ocean are where your gaze lands, and they provide a welcome sight as you sip morning coffee or evening drinks from your porch.
